I am thrilled to be part of the Copper Ridge’s Kindergarten team for the 2018-2019 school year! This will be my third year teaching at Copper Ridge. In the past, I’ve taught second grade for four years. I am looking forward to another year of teaching our Kindergarten students how to read, write, spell, and identify their numbers.
I grew up in Illinois and then moved to Arizona to attend college at Northern Arizona University. I earned by Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2002. When I am not in school, I like to spend time with my husband Matt, our two sons, Ethan & Colin, and our daughter Gianna. We also have three dogs, a bearded dragon, and a rabbit. I enjoy family trips, baking, and watching movies.
My Philosophy and Goals as a Teacher:
- I intend to help and teach each child as a UNIQUE individual having their own rate of growth and development.
- I intend to help maintain your child’s security and self-respect.
- I intend to have our classroom be pleasant, positive, secure, and a safe place to learn.
- My goals in teaching are to help each child be happy, make friends, have a positive self-image and experience many successes through positive interaction and seeing pride in their accomplishments.
Thank you for letting me be your partner in education. I’m looking forward to a great year!
