Student Services Coordinator and Special Education Teacher
I am excited to have two positions here at Copper Ridge. I am the Student Services Coordinator and this year is my first year as a Special Education Teacher.
I am a native Tucsonan and graduate of Sunnyside High School. I attended Pima Community College on a softball scholarship. I then transferred to the University of Arizona where I majored in Psychology and minored in Family Studies. After graduating I started my career in the field of Child Welfare. After 9 years in Child Welfare and a 7 year stint as a Stay at home Mom, I decided to apply my skills and experience to the field of education. After my 3rd year in the district I decided to return to school to obtain my teacher certification in Special Education.
My goal here at Copper Ridge is to ensure that students on campus feel like they are valued members of our community. Students should feel safe and included. It’s my job as the Student Services Coordinator to provide students with behavioral, emotional and social challenges the opportunity to develop their self-regulation and social skills through a variety of programs. Also as a new Special Education Teacher my goal is to provide our students with an inclusive education coupled with additional academic support.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 children. We are a sports family so our weekends consist of traveling around town to watch our children play football, volleyball and basketball. I also enjoy live music, camping, movies and cultural events.
Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your child’s life and I look forward to creating a lasting relationship with your family.
